Baja, Mexico: The remote corridor between La Paz and Loreto is just about the only place off the coast of California - either America or Mexico - where you can cruise 80-something miles and not see a soul. Just a sprinkling of palapa shacks, a few lone fishing skiffs, and a bluefin whale were our only interlopers during three days at sea. Mark Jolly.
