Inspiring Travel Writing from Nadia Latif

Nadia Latif
Nadia is based in London, but escapes whenever she can, wherever she can, be it a luxury hotel in Edinburgh or a traditional guesthouse in Chefchaoen. Her wanderings have taken her to China and through the majority of Europe, and she has travelled around North Africa and Jordan in recent years too.

After a stint of backpacking around Eastern Europe she moved to the capital, in the hope that it would shock her into finding a ‘serious job’. Happily, she’s found herself immersed in her very favourite things – travelling and travel writing, as a web content editor working in the travel industry.

  • The Five Best Martinis in London | Nadia Latif | United Kingdom | Greater London | London
For me, a cocktail should be sip-able and not too sweet (my fall-back is the Bloody Mary, more like a meal than a cocktail, really, with the added bonus of being acceptable before noon) My cocktail of choice needs to impart an air of sophistication...
  • Six Fashion-Forward Boutique Hotels in Paris | Nadia Latif | France | Ile-de-France | Paris
Paris is arguably the most fashion-conscious city on the planet; it certainly holds celebrations of all things couture more often than anywhere else. After a long day of strutting the streets in stilettos, trying not to fall foul of Marc Jacobs’...
  • Chic and Cheerful: Boutique Hotels on the Costa del Sol | Nadia Latif | Spain | Costa del Sol | Marbella
The Costa del Sol gets some seriously unfair coverage as a rowdy, holiday resort-type destination. True, there are pockets of it that cater to Club 18-30, but we at TI Towers are determined to prove that this is the exception, rather than the rule....

Room Mate Marina | Nadia Latif
Room Mate Marina rides the recent wave of slick, contemporary buildings to grace Valencia's beachfront. Owing to a prolific amount of regeneration in this area, it's within walking distance of trendy cocktail bars, design-led boutiques and the...
  • Riad Numero 9 | Nadia Latif
TI was tired and thoroughly disorientated when we arrived at Riad Numero 9. Shrugging off the offer of a riad-sent guide (how hard could it be?) we landed in Fez quite unprepared for the twisting maze of alleyways and unmarked side streets, so...
  • Ryad Mabrouka | Nadia Latif
Fez sits immovable and sprawling in a dusty basin in northern Morocco. Its tangle of alleyways and side-streets are mostly unmarked, and a complete conundrum for the uninitiated traveller. It is the oldest intact medieval medina in the Islamic world...
  • Cadran Hotel | Nadia Latif
Hotels within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower are, for the most part, heinously expensive or slightly seedy. What the 1st arrondissement is crying out for is affordable accommodation that doesn’t err on the side of faded chintz and sticky...
  • The Balmoral | Nadia Latif
The undisputed queen of Edinburgh’s hotel scene, The Balmoral epitomises the grand neo-classical style of the city’s New Town. Set immovably at the top of Princes Street, with sweeping views across the medieval Old Town and castle, the hotel brings...
  • Town Hall Hotel | Nadia Latif
For all its hipster credentials, East London has not yet received its fair share of design-led boltholes. Hotelier Loh Lik Peng is set to change this with his latest venture, the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green. Located one tube stop away from...
  • Portobello Hotel | Nadia Latif
The Portobello in London's Notting Hill is a lesson in the sort of discreet and homely charm that seems to work wonders with the entertainment industry. Tucked away from all the flashy and glamourous boutiques that proclaim their rock-star status in...
