Inspiring Travel Writing from Mike Sowden

As a British Forces child in Cyprus, Mike Sowden grew up basking in the Mediterranean sunshine, and has never quite forgiven his parents for moving to rain-lashed Yorkshire in 1982. He studied Archaeology in York in 2000-2004 and has worked (in the rain) on a number of excavations around Britain. Since deciding to turn his writing hobby into a career he has worked as a freelance web-writer for a number of online publications, and has had his work syndicated by various news services including The Huffington Post. As of August 2009 he lives in York and is working on his first novel.
A self-confessed Hellenophile, he is currently aiming at a semi-nomadic, digitally-enhanced writer's life in Mediterranean Europe, and is fully aware that it’s all just an excuse to get back under the sun.
