Inspiring Travel Writing from Michelle Jana Chan

"It's the anonymity of travel, and the adventure," Michelle says, which keeps her on the move. Benefitting from all the perks of a family of pilots, she had the greatest gift through childhood: cheap airfares. Michelle flies single-engine aircraft too, but when travelling prefers ground level so she can meet the locals. If she doesn't speak the language, she usually resorts to singing country & western. With ten years experience in broadcasting, production and print, Michelle freelances for CNN, Newsweek magazine and the Daily Telegraph, among others. She founded a boutique travel publishing company with the rise of the low-cost airlines in the UK, putting out weekend city guides for this new travel market. She also has her own fanzine, OHELL.
