Inspiring Travel Writing from Joe Cummings

Joe Cummings, a native of New Orleans, has been writing about culture, politics and travel since his first job for The Asia Record in 1979. Since then he has written over 30 original guidebooks, phrasebooks and atlases for countries in Asia and North America, including a guidebook to Thailand which has sold over a million copies.
As a freelance journalist he has written for dozens of periodicals, including Ambassador, Bangkok Post, BBC Holidays, Conde Nast Traveler, Geographical, The Independent on Sunday, International Herald Tribune, The Nation, Outside, San Francisco Examiner, South China Morning Post and Wall Street Journal. His work has twice been honoured with the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Gold Award.
