Inspiring Travel Writing from Daniel Scott

Daniel Scott
Daniel Scott is an award-winning travel writer who is based at Boomerang Beach on the New South Wales coast in Australia.

His career has spanned over fourteen years and five continents and has included a five year spell in Europe. He specialises in adventure travel and has written about diving in locations such as Tahiti, Milford Sound in New Zealand and off the coasts of Australia. On one expedition, led by Rodney Fox, off South Australian coast, he came face to face with several Great White Sharks and on another dive encountered the tiny leafy sea dragon off Esperance, in Western Australia.

Top-end luxury travel is also an area of expertise and two untaxing assignments have involved him visiting 36 of the world's leading hotels in nine cities on three continents, as well as road-testing the First Class cabins of six top airlines.

On radio, Daniel has worked on both of Australia's top commercial radio stations, 2GB and 2UE in Sydney and is currently a regular contributor to the ABC. He has also appeared on the BBC Radio 5 programme 'Up All Night'. On the web, you can read his regular travel blog at travelaustralia.ninemsn.com.au.

Daniel's also runs 'Introduction to Travel Writing' courses all around the world. The course is designed to give participants a real working knowledge of the travel writing industry, based on his fourteen years of experience. Courses will be running in the Alpujarra mountains in southern Spain in late May 2008 and in Australia in the latter part of the year. For more information, email danscott26@yahoo.co.uk.
