Alf Alderson is a freelance journalist specialising in adventure travel, and his work has appeared in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Condé Nast Traveller, Mail on Sunday, The Independent, Times Educational Supplement, Time Out and Global Adventure.
He is based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, from where he works as a freelance journalist and is the former editor of Surf magazine, one of Britain's best-established surf journals. He is also author of the award-winning books Surfing: A Beginner's Manual and Surf UK (both published by Fernhurst Books); the "official" guide to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park; and the Rough Guide to the Rocky Mountains. He has appeared in adventure sports programmes for the BBC, Sky TV and American cable networks.
