Stanley Stewart

Writers bio:
Stanley Stewart's books include 'Old Serpent Nile', an account of his journey from the mouth to the source of the White Nile, and 'Frontiers Of Heaven', about his journey across China from Shanghai to the Karakoram. The latter won the Thomas Cook/Daily Telegraph Travel Book Award. His most recent book is 'In The Empire Of Genghis Khan', the story of a thousand mile ride across Mongolia. He writes regularly for the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times where his work has won a clutch of awards.

Most of Stewart's journeys take him to the remoter parts of Asia and Africa, from lunch dates with the reindeer herders of Mongolia to a week's walk with Maasai herdsmen in the shadow of Oldoinyo Lengai. But he can also be found seeking stimulus in the traditional medicine shops of Hong Kong, dancing the tango in Paris and hanging out with rodeo cowboys in Wyoming.

Stanley Stewart was born in Ireland, grew up in Canada and lives in London.
