Peter Smith was born in England but has travelled extensively and lived in several countries — Sweden, West Africa, Spain, France and Canada. He has written biography, economics, travel and golf, concentrating on the latter two in recent years. He also paints landscapes and sketches places he visits. He has edited several golf and travel magazines. He was UK Travel Writer of the Year in 1999 and speaks French and Spanish as well as English.
