Paris is arguably the most fashion-conscious city on the planet; it certainly holds celebrations of all things couture more often than anywhere else. After a long day of strutting the streets in stilettos, trying not to fall foul of Marc Jacobs’ punctuality policy and ongoing lettuce-leaf fasts, a luxury hotel that’s both chic and unique is as essential as next season’s Birkin bag.
As for us mere mortals who haven’t managed to secure a front-row seat at Galliano, there’s no need to miss out. The city holds a wealth of designer boutiques (Christian Lacroix himself is responsible for two) and we have hand-picked a list of super-stylish luxury hotels in Paris that are perfect for Paris Fashion Week:
Hotel du Petit Moulin
Starting things off is a design-savvy boutique hotel from Christian Lacroix. There's been a trend building in recent years for designers to put their creative paws to hotels; Lacroix was one of the first and is undeniably one of the best.
The building was a bakery in its former life but now it’s ever so much more glam, with fantastical interiors that showcase a wild imagination. Petit Moulin is a tiny slice of Parisian chic in the heart of Le Marais.
Don’t miss: an expertly mixed martini in the downstairs bar, an Alice-in-Wonderland-style drinking space that’s strictly guests-only.

Hotel Color Design
The Bastille isn’t the most affluent or polished area in Paris, but it would be a hard heart indeed that overlooked the Color Design’s style ethic. It's a white-on-white confection of a city crashpad, with wallet friendly prices to match.
This is not a hotel for the shy and retiring. The bathrooms boast totally transparent doors, but only the staid and serious could complain; the constantly changing rainbow-hued showers are made all the easier to admire.
Don’t miss: dinner at nearby L’Encrier, a hidden gem on Rue Traversière that is everything you could want from a Parisian bistro (and like Hotel Color Design, won’t break the bank).

Hotel Sezz
The ever-popular Hotel Sezz lies in the 16th-arrondissement, a shopaholics mecca that's close to the Rue de Passy. Rooms are still available over Fashion Week, but not for long; get there before the fashion pack does.
Champagne on arrival is just one of the luxe touches to be expected here, a welcome change from the hotel's former incarnation as a Best Western. With only 26 rooms, it's a great place to crash after a busy day on the catwalks/walking the Rue de Passy.
Don’t miss: a drink in the sexy Veuve Clicquot champagne bar, the first of its kind in Paris.

Hotel Duo
This is a boutique hotel with a long history; that foremost follower of fashion, Marie Antoinette, reputedly climbed its wrought-iron stairwell. Now the Duo has been brought bang up-to-date in the capable hands of Jean-Philippe Nuel, and comes complete with a ‘virtual fireplace’ and sexy houndstooth furnishings.
The vibe here is decidedly unpretentious, so make up for that by donning your most out-there Balmain and shimmying along the nearby Rue di Rivoli.
Don’t miss: anything – the location is one of the most central in Paris, within easy walking distance to the Louvre and the Pompidou.
Kube Hotel
There are so many things that set the Kube apart, and while some (the black loo roll springs to mind) are on the gimmicky side, there’s no question that its sub-zero Ice Bar and faux-fur rentals are lots of fun. It’s a retro-fabulous Parisian bolthole, full of quirky designer detailing.
This is not a place to head for an early night, and the lounge bar is something of a hotspot on the Paris cocktail scene. Grab yourself a Lychee Bellini, a bubble chair and make the most of the 360-degree sound system and guest DJs.
Don’t miss: gulping down four cocktails in 20-minutes during your designated slot at the Ice Bar.

Le Standard Design
Another style-conscious hotel that’s as easy on the eye as it is on the wallet. Sitting pretty on the edge of the Marais, Le Standard Design is all decked out in that Parisian’s favourite, monochrome. C'est chic!
Don’t miss: the great morning breakfast spread, taken upstairs in a pretty, beamed attic-room.
