Rives De Notre-Dame by Jamie Dunford Wood

The Rives de Notre-Dame is a tiny hotel, on the embankment just by Boulevard St Michel, and it hasn't much in the way of facilities. A genial owner mans the front desk just inside the door, and they serve nothing but breakfast. However, what some of the ten rooms can offer is an awe-inspiring view, right across the river to Notre Dame. The best for views are on the second and third floors, with two windows each , as the first floor views are of the bookinistes on the river's edge, unless you fancy a cricked neck. Décor is bright and pretty, in provencal style. For the type of hotel the is relatively expensive - between 200 and 300 euros a night - but you are paying for the view and the Left Bank right on your doorstep, as well as the feeling of staying a hotel that nobody else knows about.
