River Club by Will Jones
The River Club is an attractive river-front lodge with seven large, split-level rooms all overlooking the river. They have been tastefully decorated and finished to a very high standard. The lodge has a small swimming pool, decked with cream parasols, which overlooks the river. The lawns are kept well watered and there is a croquet lawn set just to one side of the main building.
Until recently, the River Club was a private residence and this is clearly evident in the colonial style of the buildings. The River Club has some beautifully kept and extensive gardens full of mature trees and bougainvillea.
Dinner is together around the main table whilst breakfast is served on the open-air veranda with views of the Zambezi directly in front of you.
The rooms are very comfortable and also themed with the colonial era in mind with large fans, netted four poster beds and colonial memorabilia. The downstairs shower and bathroom are open to the elements and views of the river which is lovely on a warm and pleasant African day.
