Maison Mnabha by Joanna Monkhouse

In the Kasbah, the English run Maison Mnabha is very good value for a riad in the centre of Marrakech and has one of the best breakfasts in Marrakech. It is small, with only four rooms (ensuite showers), and as it is only one half of a riad there is no central courtyard. The 17th century salon has carved wood and plasterwork on the walls and an impressive original painted ceiling and pillars. One room has a single room attached, sharing the double room's bathroom. Two of the rooms have carved plasterwork ceilings.

Maison Mnabha’s roof terrace has an almost 360° view of the medina, north to Djemaa el Fna, south to les Jardins Agdal and the Bahia Palace, the towering palm trees and beyond to the Atlas mountains, and it is at its most spectacular at sunset.
