The Magic Mountain Hotel by Christoph Hargreaves-Allen

A small, personalised, select hotel - another ex-sanatorium, although you would never know - this is the ideal place for a business traveller or for executive families, with indoor golf and massage beds, and slick, spacious suites. There's no menu in the restaurant: instead they ask you what you want to eat. With an emphasis on comfort and wellness, the newly renovated hotel has a sleek lounge and a low-key décor, with all the high technology you could need to stay connected, whether you are here to work or play.

A very modern hotel, which is unusual for the Alps and a refreshing change from Alpine kitsch for visiting skiers. Service is impeccable and the hotel is as quiet as it is discreet; it is not so ideal for families with small children, however. The hotel is so quiet and private, in fact, you might find it a little characterless - unless you have minimalist or modernist tastes. Service can not be faulted, and the hotel is run along the lines of serviced flats.
