Livingstone Island by Will Jones

Leased by Tongabezi, Livingstone Island sits literally metres from the head of the Victoria Falls. Lunch is arranged in an open-sided tent by the falls and must rate as one of the finest dining sites in Africa. A full three-course meal is served as a buffet before you wander off to swim in a small rock pool that sits on the edge of the falls with only as little as 50cm of rock between you and the plunging water of the falls.

Although open through the year the river does rise considerably between January and March, which may mean that they have to close the island.

Weddings can also be arranged on the island with the local African church choir.
