Little Governors Tented Camp by Will Jones

Many people swear by Little Governors. If you are looking for a good value, not to large, traditional tented camp then Little Governors is it as far as I am concerned. There are sixteen tents tucked around a watering hole teeming with game and birdlife – when I was last there I counted no less than five different male ‘tuskers’ visit the waterhole and a small family of Eygptian Geese with chicks. In fact the BBC Big Cat Diary use Little Governors as their base which gives you some indication as to how good the game is in the local vicinity.

Getting to the camp is also something of an adventure. One has to first get pulled across a small river before being guided on foot the final ten minutes with armed guards through the forest to the camp.

The tents are furnished simply and there is running water in all the en-suite bathrooms. Each verandha overlooks the watering hole.

The staff are excellent as are the guides.
