The Lennox by Ken Scrudato

London is so deep into its style wars, it's a wonder the monarchy hasn't evaporated in the face of all that shiny modernism. The Lennox, however, is an astounding pairing of the classic and the contemporary. A converted Victorian townhouse, it's at once a marvel of futuristic, occasionally surreal design (there are images of clouds on the ceiling of the elevator), and a respite from the intense pace of London life. Limestone floors, atmospheric lighting and dramatic sheer white curtains make for a theatrical entrance lobby, and designer Deborah Nagan has infused the 22 rooms with a warmth that's oft trampled in the race for the supremacy of white, white and more white. Truly stunning. Oh, and Harvey Nics is right around the corner.
