Hotel Sirmione by Joanna Monkhouse

As the middle ranker of the Terme di Sirmione triplet of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sirmione is decorated in a similar vein to the other two, a bit less luxurious than the Grand Hotel Terme and somewhat more so than the Hotel Fonte Boiola. Unlike the others however, Hotel Sirmione is situated in the historical centre, on the first and largest of the village’s pedestrianised squares. The rooms are uniformly comfortable, decorated in soft shades of yellow and red that complement the colours of the hotel’s painted façade. A sunbathing platforms floats on the lake in front of the restaurant’s terrace. Hotel Sirmione houses the complex’s spa, utilising the mineral-rich thermal waters, with the result that the sulphurous odours permeate much of the hotel.
