Hotel Royal Monceau by Jamie Dunford Wood

The stylish Hotel Royal Monceau is close to the Arc de Triomphe and just a few paces from the Champs Elysees in Paris. It is probably one of the best of the grand, non-palace luxury hotels.

The facilities

There are massive marbled columns, swags, drapes and chandeliers which greet arriving guests of the luxury hotel. Beyond this is an impressive red and black and silver tiled bar, and, at the back of the luxury hotel, a charming garden, into which the restaurant is built. Beneath are extensive treatment rooms, a gym and a small pool.

The rooms

The rates are certainly better than the palace hotels of Paris, especially considering the size of the 201 rooms in this luxury hotel, which is generally big. Often they have two windows, their cream and white walls and elegant repro furnishings give them a light, bright feel. The luxury hotel’s deluxe rooms are positively huge, and many of them have separate showers.
