Hotel Imperial by Chloe Loyd

In the quieter northwest side of the old city, the Old Town wall has been cleverly integrated into the 21st-century interior to preserve the historical feel of the building. Most of the 32 rooms are wonderfully spacious and light and the deluxe rooms come with a kitchenette so self catering is possible. Ask for rooms overlooking the cobbled street for the best views. Some rooms have baths, most are decked out with particularly powerful super-showers. The single beds are rather narrow.

The reception area is large and welcoming with a nice bar area. Worth noting are the jacuzzi and sauna downstairs with large leather armchairs to relax into and a kitchenette to keep you set for a good few hours. Tallinn’s only cheese restaurant has recently opened in the hotel. It’s rather over-decorated with wagon wheels and armour adorning the walls and its very own Knight of Happiness to keep you in the spirit. A tad touristy but its popularity speaks for itself.
