Hotel Brighton by Jamie Dunford Wood

The Brighton shows great promise. It has three major factors going for it: one, position; two, view - one of the best in Paris; and three, price. Moreover, the renovated rooms with the views are a good size and all have separate power showers. Too good to be true? Well, the only drawback is that despite some limited noise protection, the Brighton is on the busy Rue de Rivoli, so the 12 best rooms with the views - the ones really worth having - suffer from some street noise. However, it's certainly bearable. And if you can put up with these disadvantages, you get a bargain, with well chosen pictures and Parisian prints and tasteful, if somewhat sparse decor.
