Under the same ownership as The Egerton House and Dukes, The Franklin is a traditional townhouse hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge. Its two drawing rooms have cosy fireplaces and a self-service honesty bar. Antique furniture, oil paintings, art objects and traditional floral fabrics serve to create an Edwardian English, if unremarkable style. The garden is a definite bonus. A good pick for single travellers - the single rooms have double beds - but the best rooms are undoubtedly the deluxe doubles which are on two levels with four poster beds. There is a full-time chef and the hotel can cater for a private dinner party for up to 24 people.
