Elsa’s Kopje by Will Jones

Built on the original site of George and Joy Adamsons first camp in Meru National Park, Elsa’s Kopje sits astride a rocky bluff overlooking this very attractive park.

Elsa’s Kopje is a beautiful lodge set in one of kenya’s wildest and least visisted National Parks. For this reason there are very few other tourists In the park and you are well off the beaten mini-van path.

The rooms at Elsa’s are all open to the elements and built from natural rock, wattle and thatch. Large double-beds and open-plan bathrooms complement the generous proportions of the rooms. Elsa’s has a loyal following and the lodge enjoys a high percentage of repeat visitors year on year. The home made pasta and fresh salads is often referred to in the consistently good feedback on the lodge.

The wildlife in Meru is shy and disperses easily but there is much to be said for working for your wildlife. Having said this there is a healthy population of resident game in Meru and a good guide and tracker will find it for you.
