Davoserhof by Christoph Hargreaves-Allen

This small hotel is one to know about. A discreet place where the management respect the privacy of the guests absolutely, there are no great saloons or lounges over-populated by fellow guests. The dining room, one of two, is especially attractive with lilac coloured napkins on crisp white tablecloths and exquisite boiserie woodwork. The cellar here is particularly good: on the walls hang famed wine labels and the cellar holds wines along the lines of Sauternes d'Yquem, Grands Crus, Chateaux Latour, Briand, Lafite, and so on. A large sun terrace looks onto a pine-covered mountain in just the right perspective. The rooms are elegant, not too big, not too small.

This hotel is altogether the most poised hotel in town. Very well-situated in the absolute centre of town, it's an enlightened balance of luxurious and rustic, with a tendency to the former. Probably the most elegant place to stay in Davos.
