Ca D’Oro by Vanessa Kaoukji

Situated in a quiet corner of the Cannaregio district the Ca d’Oro is a charming 4 storey B&B reached through a secluded courtyard. How it came to have the same name as the most famous Gothic palace in Venice is a mystery, but it certainly is unique in its understated elegance. The building was completely restored in 2000 to provide modern amenities and large tiled bathrooms. The hotel teeters on the edge of a canal and at least a quarter of the rooms have canal views. Reasonable rates and friendly staff make up for occasional oddities in the design.
