Agli Alboretti by Jamie Dunford Wood

Friendly and inexpensive Venetian pensione hotel opposite its smarter neighbour the Ca’ Pisani, the Agli Alboretti is close to the Accademmia and in an interesting part of Venice. Rooms are bright and prettily done but mostly fairly small, and the place is clean and friendly with an excellent restaurant which pulls in a local crowd in a small garden in the back. Two rooms have delightful private terraces – however, the shape of these rooms doesn’t encourage romance as two single beds are placed end to end.
