Travel Intelligence acts as a loose collective of travel writers. The writers on our books have signed contracts with us, allowing us to syndicate their pre-published work to books, magazines and websites - you can buy the articles that you see on the site.

Travel Intelligence can also help editors to commission new work. We represent a full range of writers - specialists in all sorts of destinations and themes. We have helped editors commission work for travel guides, magazines, books - we have even commissioned podcasts and the content and copy for entire websites.

Syndicate travel articles

Buying the second rights to pre-published articles is an extremely effective way of maximising quality and minimising cost, especially if your budget does not allow for new commissions from experienced writers. The vast majority of articles on our books were commissioned by major magazines or newspapers, whose budgets are large enough to be able to ensure quality research and writing. Most articles will only have appeared once, to a relatively small audience.

If you're looking for a specific article, you can search by destination or theme. A quick look through the results of your search will also show you which writers specialise in certain destinations. Remember that our writers will not show their full portfolios on the site - if you can't find the article that fits your requirements, contact us and we will let you know what else our writers might have available.

Commission travel articles

Commissioning articles through Travel Intelligence has obvious benefits for editors. We have over 130 travel writers on our books, who have been through a strict selection process before being accepted onto the site.

We can help you match writers to themes and destinations; we can offer advice on which writers will suit the needs of your publication best. We will negotiate fees with writers on your behalf; we will also make sure copy is delivered on time, deal with rewrites and so forth.

We try to keep track of where all our writers are - we know who has fresh knowledge of which destinations, so you can often source up-to-date copy without the overhead of travel expenses. Fees start at around GBP 300 per 1,000 words.

We can help you commission a specific article, we can ask a series of writers to submit pitches or we can simply offer ideas about how you can freshen up your pool of writers.
