Dunton Hot Springs 4 Stars

"An entire gold rush-era town, preserved and converted into a luxury retreat in Colorado's Telluride."

Hotel Overview

Dunton Hot Springs is a unique boutique hotel and mountain resort in the Colorado Rockies. Converted from a tiny abandoned mining town, Dunton Hot Springs offers lots of fresh air, stunning views, back-to-nature log cabin lodgings and complete seclusion from the outside world: there's no TVs or mobile reception. This is all done without too much compromise on luxury, which will come as a relief to those who like nature without the bugs.

The facilities

Original log cabins house all of Dunton Hot Springs' cosy amenities. The old bathhouse has been converted to service the area's mineral-rich hot springs, and there are plenty of indulgent spa treatments on offer in the Tepee. Massage and yoga rooms can be found in the Pony Express Stop cabin.

After cleansing your mind, body and spirit you can have a delicious locally-sourced meal in the dining cabin, and a well-earned drink at the bar. Wine

The rooms

Each of the boutique hotel's twelve guest cabins are 19th-century hand-hewn log buildings, restored by local and Native American craftsmen. The cabins are individually decorated, each with their own wow-factor features: the Honeymoon cabin has a Rajasthan wedding bed, there's Wild West film memorabilia and a private outdoor soaking pool at Dunton Store and Well House has direct access to geothermal spring water.
