The Bishop's Lodge is a ranch resort and spa located in its own private valley at the base of the scenic Sangre De Cristos, Santa Fe. Set across 450 acres this is a vast rural retreat. Staff here are warm and welcoming, in keeping with the rustic vibe. Santa Fe proper is a short drive away and boasts "America's Best Flea Market" which sprawls across 12 acres, and with 500 vendors vintage finds are guaranteed. The plaza meanwhile offers the chance of some fantastic alfresco dining and people watching.

The facilities

Facilities here are plentiful and varied. The award-winning ShaNah Spa's six indoor treatment rooms and two outdoor massage gardens offer a tranquil setting for a wide variety of relaxing treatments. The spa also boasts a Japanese Watsu Pool and whirlpool. There's also a modern onsite fitness centre, open-air tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, guided trail horse rides and walks, a skeet and trap range and finally, daily yoga and pilates.

The rooms

Each of The Bishop's Lodge's 15 villas is polished and uniform with homely SW touches. Each room features traditional Navajo rugs, glowing stone fireplaces, and a neutral, earthy palate. All rooms come with high-speed internet access, cable television, and deluxe suites come with either a plush balcony or patio.
