Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco 5 Stars
"Sleek, Asian style and inspired service, this luxury hotel enjoys great views across the San Francisco skyline."
Hotel Overview
The Mandarin Oriental luxury hotel occupies the top 11 floors of the third tallest building in San Francisco, placing guests above most of the surrounding Financial District high rises. Every sky high room has a bird's eye view of San Francisco.
The facilities
Located on the second floor, Silks restaurant combines elements of Pacific Rim cuisine with West Coast dishes in a unique atmosphere. Inspired by the discovery of silk, interior designer Cheryl Rowley created a silk oriental theme for the restaurant, using bold wall treatments, floor coverings and hand-painted silk chandeliers.
Mo Bar is a laid-back lounge, complimented by live piano music. During the afternoon, guests can take their tea with a delicious assortment of scones or madeleines. In the evening, cocktails are offered with an array of "small plates" dining. Specialties include sesame-crusted Peking duck and grilled pita bread. The luxury hotel also provides a business centre and fitness centre, as well as in-room massage service.
The rooms
The 161 lavish rooms and suites feature unobstructed views of the city and San Francisco Bay. A lovely complimentary tea and cookie tray delivered to your room upon your arrival sets the standard for the luxury hotel's high commitment to personal service.
The Mandarin King rooms even have views from the extra deep bathtubs. Egyptian-cotton sheets, two kinds of robes (terry and waffle-weave), and terry slippers make your stay all the more comfortable.
