Kahala, Honolulu, United States
Kahala 5 Stars
"Oceanfront elegance at this luxury hotel in Honolulu and a firm favourite of the A-list."
Hotel Overview
The Kahala is a luxury resort set on a secluded beach on the island of Honolulu. Every U.S. president since Lyndon B. Johnson has stayed here, also, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, Gandhi and the Dalai Lama. With white sandy beaches and Oceanside spa treatments, it's easy to see why this luxury hotel is a top choice among the wealthy.
The facilities
A variety of restaurants here: Hoku serves island cuisine amongst panoramic views of the Pacific. The Seaside Grill offers lunch by the beach and the Veranda is a comfortable lounge alongside the Dolphin Lagoon. If you're in the mood for an Asian meal, Tokyo-Tokyo uses traditional Japanese culinary practices. Be sure to try the infamous Kahala Burger at the open air Plumeria Beach Café.
The rooms
The hotel has 338 rooms with views of the ocean, dolphin lagoon or mountains. Each of the rooms is crisp and clean with white, beige and wooden décor. Floris of London toiletries and Frette linen and towels come standard along with flat screen televisions. Prints by early 20th-century French artist Paul Jacoulet adorn the walls.

“Kahala feels like a colonial mansion, with private beach, teak-tile floors and hand-loomed Tibetan rugs. Four bottlenoses frolic in the dolphin pool and ocean-view rooms have a special treat: the water is illuminated at night.” NY Times 08Kahala, Honolulu, United States
