The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort is renowned as one of the finest hotels in Hawaii. A large resort located in the centre of Honolulu, its sits pround opposite the famous Waikiki Beach. The Regency is no more than a stroll away from various Honolulu attractions such as Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium.

First impressions tend to be very good: the staff are legendary for their warmth and quality of service, the lobby is a huge open-air atrium filled with waterfalls and exotic birds. The Great Hall is surrounded by six restaurants and sixty shops, ranging from high end boutiques to chain stores. Almost every night, the atrium is filled with dancers and musicians giving hula lessons and making flower wreaths for the guests.

The facilities

The Regency's facilities are all about relaxation and luxury. If you don't want to contend with the crowds on Waikiki Beach, the hotel has a large swimming pool and sunbathing area with its own bar and a "Dive-In" cinema. There's a modern spa and salon for more proactive relaxation, and acres of lush, fountain-filled gardens for evening walks.

The rooms

The Regency's 1229 rooms are some of the largest and most luxurious in Hawaii, and most have a private balcony, beach view or both. One word of warning: it has been known for some of the rooms near the elevators to suffer noise problems, and the popularity of the hotel means that changing is not always an option.
