Hotel Overview
Inverlochy Castle was built in 1863 at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. It is surprisingly small in size (just eighteen guestrooms) and is much praised for the quality of its restaurants and staff. Expect traditional, old-school service of the highest order, plentiful country pursuits and a truly beautiful setting.
The facilities
The Michelin-starred cooking at Inverlochy's restaurant is served over three dining rooms; the Modern British menu is a reason to come here alone. Work off dinner at the many activities on site, such as tennis, clay pigeon shooting and fishing on the nearby loch. Some activities need to be organised in advance, so be sure to check with staff.
The rooms
Each of Inverlochy Castle's 18 bedrooms is individually decorated bedrooms in an antique-scattered, chintzy style (but not oppressively so). All have a 30 inch Phillips mirror televisions, laptops with internet access and a DVD player, and the views of Ben Nevis are breathtaking.
