The Mount Somerset is an intimate and refined country house hotel in Taunton, Somerset. With just eleven guestrooms, it is much smaller than the average country house and is perfectly suited to honeymooners and romancing couples. This area offers some truly stunning panoramas of the English countryside and is ideal for meandering walks on the Somerset Levels.

The facilities

The restaurant serves Modern British cuisine and has been awarded two AA rosettes; the accompanying wine list is well thought-out and  extensive. Private parties should reserve the Sedgemoor Suite, ideal for intimate gatherings and small family celebrations. The Mount Somerset is a favourite of wedding parties, owing to its petite size; many families choose to book the hotel exclusively so they can have the entire run of the house.

For those visiting on business, the Sedgemoor Suite is ideal for boardroom meetings and other business functions. The Quantock Room accommodates 50 theatre-style or 20 boardroom and in addition, exclusive use of the house can be arranged for special events.

The rooms

All eleven guestrooms are individually decorated, in a traditional, country-house style. Most rooms have roll top baths and the suites have wet rooms and, of course splendid views of the neighbouring countryside. All come with nightly turn-down, flat screen televisions and complimentary wifi.
