The Peacock at Rowsley is a small boutique hotel in Matlock, at the heart of England's Peak District. Built in 1642 and recently acquired by Lord Edward Manners (owner of nearby Haddon Hall) the hotel has been refurbished throughout and styled by award winning designer India Mahdavi.

Good news for anglers: The Peacock is situated in the UK's best place for fly fishing, as rare wild rainbow trout and brown trout can be caught from the boutique hotel's private stretches of the rivers Wye and Derwent.

Guests at The Peacock are also offered discounted entry to nearby stately homes Haddon House and Chatsworth House, which have both been immortalised in many a period drama.
