A great location near the Tate Gallery and very competitive rates for a city centre hotel make the Doubletree by Hilton a firm favourite for London. As well as the gallery, its Thames-side home means it's within walking distance to the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and the West End.
The facilities
The restaurant here is great, serving good quality modern European cuisine in a relaxed environment. There's also a funky cocktail bar, the Milbank Lounge, and a nice breakfast spread provided each morning. Meeting facilities and complimentary wireless broadband are a key attraction for the business market.
The rooms
Not exactly small and boutique, with 460 guest rooms under its belt, the Doubletree by Hilton nevertheless manages to keep things from feeling too corporate. Rooms are functional and comfortable, with flat screen televisions, DVD players and White Company toiletries in the bathrooms - yummy.
