Hotel Overview
Review of No 5 Maddox Street, by Kevin Kalhoefer
Next to the ever-busy Bond Street and Regent Street, No 5 Maddox Street is discreetly set off on a much quieter and smaller London road. This is a boutique hotel that offers apartment-style suites with big hotel-service.
The reception area at this boutique hotel looks like the entrance to a posh club with mirrored walls and floor lights. One can relax quite comfortably here. Despite its closeness to the shopping and traffic on Bond Street and Regent Street, this boutique hotel is peaceful and quiet, even in the quaint outdoor garden.
This luxury boutique hotel has friendly and helpful staff and offers 24-hour room service. Chefs are available on-request for personal catering in your suite. There's no fitness room or spa, but they do offer their guests passes to the nearest fitness centre which is about a five minute walk away.
All 18 bedrooms in No 5 Maddox Street come equipped with all the essential facilities, the latest technology, fireplaces in some rooms (some built into the mirrored wall) and even have their own kitchens with personal grocers to do your food shopping for you if you choose. The suites themselves are more like upscale apartments than hotel rooms.
The room decoration at this boutique hotel is understated with beige walls and wooden floors and an occasional black and white photograph gracing the walls. The bedrooms are spacious and allow for lots of natural light to bathe the room. In addition to the bedroom and the bathrooms (which are separate in some of the rooms), there is also a small living room with an additional wide screen television and comfortable leather couches.
