Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square 4 Stars
This Radisson sibling is tucked away behind the National portrait gallery: it's a sleek and chic luxury hotel ideal for business travellers.
Hotel Overview
Review of Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square, by Isabel Clift
The Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square is little sister to the neighbouring Radisson Hampshire. Funkier and more intimate, with a smaller-scale business focus, it's a clever pick for sleek style in a central locale. White-on-cream interiors are calm and quiet - the perfect antidote to Friday night frays outside.
The facilities
Crushed velvet couches, wall-sized black and white line drawings and zebra-striped furniture in the lobby set a quirky tone, while a traditional Thai statuette greets diners at the restaurant door. Head inside for modern seafood dishes (or a steak if you can't handle fish!) The restaurant's clean-lined, Asian-inspired decor calls for a composed atmosphere - you're more likely to find business lunchers than Leicester Square stags and hens.
Three meeting rooms are ideal for smaller gatherings. All are white, with contemporary photography on the walls and up to date AV equipment. It's not all about work, though: a compact gym down the hall will help you blow off steam.
The rooms
Sixty guestrooms are light and bright, with neat design flourishes. Cream beds are spiced up by jewel-coloured velvet throws, while padded, leather-panelled feature walls take the place of headboards. Bang & Olufsen flat screen TVs and complementary Wi-Fi are tech treats, and slick bathrooms have granite and marble floors.
Standard Rooms come in varying sizes and shapes, but all have a good amount of floor space and generously sized wardrobes. Deluxe Rooms have king-sized beds and even more wiggle room, while the singular Studio Suite is great for those who really like to spread out. Its open-plan bedroom/bathroom area has an egg-shaped freestanding bath, and there's a separate lounge and a walk-in dressing room too. Despite being in London's busiest tourist area, all rooms are completely quiet - perhaps this luxury hotel's biggest coup.
