Jumeirah Carlton Tower 5 Stars

“A classic business choice in Knightsbridge, the hotel has smart, refined and elegant interiors and a top-notch health spa.”

Hotel Overview

Review of Jumeirah Carlton Tower, by Nadia Latif

The big sister of the Jumeirah Lowndes certainly dwarves its younger sibling. A towering 220-roomed luxury hotel in Knightsbridge, the Jumeirah Carlton Tower boasts every conceivable amenity, from a health spa to a golf simulator. It would be pretty difficult to get bored here.

A big draw here is the renowned Rib Room, which was established in 1961. It serves up traditional British fare and the speciality Aberdeen Angus beef gives a good indication of what to expect. For those looking for something a little less hearty, there's the Club Room, located on the 9th floor. As oxymoronic as it may sound, its indulgent yet healthy lunch buffet has proved very popular with gym fanatics that use the adjoining Peak Health Club.

GILT bar is a great place to catch some pre dinner drinks. It's a dinky little champagne lounge positioned just off the main

It's a dinky little champagne lounge positioned just off the main lobby that has an edgier, more urban vibe than the rest of the hotel. Included on the menu is the incredible £800 When Louis meets Louise cocktail - but don't panic, there are plenty of more bank-balance friendly options too!

The 220 rooms carry the same neutral colours as the rest of the hotel. All are generous in size and the suites have integrated dining areas alongside oversized sofas and armchairs. The general mood here is comfort over designer style - a place to unwind in after a hectic day touring London.

King size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, soft carpeting, flat-screen televisions and designer bath products - the Jumeirah Carlton Tower ticks all of the provisional boxes for a luxury hotel. Highlights? The Spa Suite has one of the most sumptuous tubs that we've seen in a long time - a carved stone wonder of a bath with Temple Spa products nestled alongside it. The Luxury Suites too provides something outside the norm - designed by Khuan Chew, they are glamorous and glitzy, complete with Jacuzzi tub and amazing skyline views.

Children

Very family-orientated, with children's welcome packs, Wii consoles on request and special mini-bathrobes. A children's menu is provided in the Rib Room. Guests have access to a private garden, which has a cute children's playground in it.

Eating in

Some of London's best beef, as well as an excellent traditional British menu, can be found in the Rib Room. Also, healthy buffets are served in the Club Room. The Jumeirah Carlton has good private dining facilities and 24 hour room service as well.
