Beaufort Hotel, London, United Kingdom
Hotel Overview
Review of Beaufort Hotel, by Kayt Sukel
London is chock-a-block with small, boutique hotels – and most blend dully into the landscape. But every once in a while, you’ll find one in the bunch that manages to differentiate itself with brilliant charm and service. One of these is the Beaufort Hotel in Knightsbridge – a 29-room property which manages to truly feel like your “home away from home” in the heart of bonny London.
It’s often said the truth is in the details. Though the Beaufort is a small property, their eye on every detail results in a one-of-a-kind hotel experience. You’ll revel in comfortable yet elegant rooms that are much roomier than your average city hotel room, and its location just off Brompton Road in Knightsbridge offers guests easy access to Harrods, wonderful restaurants and some of the city’s finest (and free) museums.
Everything you need is at your fingertips. Breakfast or a meal from the expansive room service menu can be ordered directly to your room, and the two lounges (one next to the reception desk and one in the basement) offer large-screen satellite televisions and cosy, comfy couches you can sink right into. The Beaufort also goes above and beyond with an open resident’s bar, complete with beer and wine, free wireless internet across the hotel and complimentary cream tea served daily each afternoon.
There are four distinct room types, all impeccably decorated in warm, soft colors and English watercolor paintings. The smallest of these is the Single – despite its name, it’s very comfortably sized and offers a double bed. The Double Room is a little roomier and ideal for corporate travellers. Families will appreciate the last two room categories: the Deluxe and the Junior Suite. Deluxe rooms can be configured with two twins or a king-sized bed, and Junior Suites offer the same flexibility as well as a small seating area with sofa that pulls out into an extra bed.
All rooms are elegantly decorated and quite spacious. Extra amenities like marble baths, satellite television and complimentary Wi-Fi come together to create a comfortable and calming luxury whether your stay is for business or pleasure. The Beaufort’s painstaking attention to every small detail ensures you’ll feel right at home.

Review of The Beaufort, by Angela Moore
A small, four-star townhouse hotel positioned on Beaufort Gardens, a peaceful cul-de-sac a few streets down from Harrods, The Beaufort was once a shrine to busy, chintzy, English traditional decor. But a contemporary makeover - featuring lots of suede, limestone, and blonde maple furniture - has brought it firmly into the 21st-century.
The lobby welcomes guests with fresh flowers, and there's more public space in a small basement lounge. But it's the extras that set The Beaufort apart: free afternoon tea with home-made scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream is served every afternoon. Free coffee, tea and mineral water are served all day. The bar at this hotel is also free from 3pm to 11pm, and you can help yourself to wine, champagne, even a gin and tonic. The rooms
Of the 29 rooms at the Beaufort, four are singles (with double beds), eighteen doubles, and seven junior suites. Décor continues with the muted contemporary theme-textural fabrics, opulent trimming on cushions, and sumptuous satin bedspreads. Room No. 7 offers full-length windows onto the street; junior suites have king-sized zip-link beds and large windows; full suites have separate bedrooms and small sitting rooms, big enough for a sofa and coffee table, in varying layouts. Nice touches include dimmer switches and controls for heating and air conditioning, and a generous hand with the Gilchrist & Soames bath goodies (it's Escada in the suites).
Review of The Beaufort, by Chloe Loyd
The Beaufort offers a more inclusive service than many of its competitors. Situated in London, it is the perfect base to stay while exploring all the city has to offer.
The bar is complimentary and afternoon tea including homemade scones, with all the trimmings, is served daily in the sitting room. It is here you can while away the hours happily ensconced in the plump sofas, nibbling on handmade chocolates. The Beaufort boasts a large collection of English watercolours, with over 400 adorning the walls. The many vases of fresh flowers and bowls of fruit, all set off by soft lighting, add to the rather feminine feel.
The 29 bedrooms are light, fresh and uncluttered, with wooden floors and fantastically big bathrooms. A complimentary classical CD is yours to take away. Ask for a room with a balcony when you book.
