Selcuklu Evi is a small boutique hotel in Cappadocia, built in the traditional Seljuk style. It's housed in an historic part of Urgup, from the remnants of five town houses that previously stood there. Turkish culture is deeply engrained in the roots of this hotel; local artwork and furnishings have been meticulously collected by the current owner, and are scattered throughout the hotel.

The facilities

Everything here is low-key and relaxed, and the same goes for the facilities. The restaurant serves regional Turkish fare, and room service runs 24 hours. There's no bar as such, though the Selcuklu Evi does stock a range of local wines. The real star of the show is the garden area, complete with fountain - the perfect retreat on lazy summer evenings.

The rooms

Each of the 20 rooms has been individually decorated, with a focus on traditional and local crafts. Brightly patterned rugs and throws add colour to the crisp white linens and darkwood furnishings. Splash out on the signature Imperial Suite, and you'll enjoy a private Jacuzzi, oriental-style lounge area and king-size bed.
