Hotel Overview
Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand is a top-notch luxury hotel in the city centre, that overlooks two picture-perfect canals. Just a stone's throw away from the financial districts and Dam Square, it makes for the perfect business stopover (the twenty minute journey from the airport doesn't hurt, either).
The facilities
The restaurant dishes up fine French cuisine, in beautiful surrounds (the building used to house a convent, and many of the rooms still carry a sense of its history). The bar area overlooks the private garden, and is the ideal place for relaxing evening cocktails. There's also a chic spa, the perfect antidote to the bustling streets of Amsterdam, complete with indoor pool, steam room and sauna.
The rooms
Each of The Grand's 178 guestrooms are elegant and luxurious, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The original layout of the building has been preserved wherever possible, making for lots of period features. Spacious and airy thanks to the high-ceilings and huge windows, they come with all mod cons and in some cases, gorgeous canal views.
