Hotel Greulich, an impressive and lightly-structured design hotel, pays its respect to urban development and organic shapes. Originally a restaurant first, this hotel branched out to provide rooms for guests that indulged in the nights festivities and had a long drive home. A few rooms turned into more rooms and this solo restaurant turned into a fabulous expression of concept architecture as a cutting edge design hotel.

A mix of bourgeois and revolutionary, this design hotel was named after social reformer Herman Greulich and was designed to mesh with apartment blocks from the nineteenth century. Light and airy with an upscale twist, Hotel Greulich is located in one of Zurich's most vibrant areas to live and visit.

The facilities

In the restaurant of this design hotel, small and golden birch leaves twinkle from the walls. The in-house bar has light that comes in pastel pink and reflects on a wall of compressed wood, which is refined with platinum leaf. A delicate playing of styles defined by detail and simplicity, this design hotel is cosmopolitan, chic and high-end.

The cigar lounge is dedicated to those guests that desire a fumoir with pizzazz and spunk. The lounge has an open fireplace and is decorated with cedar wood on the walls. The air is kept fresh by from the design of the room and offers complete enjoyment no matter the preference, be it cigars, a cup of coffee or an indulging discussion.

The rooms

Elegant from the outside and warm on the inside, this design hotel has a variety of rooms, suites and long stay apartments to choose from. Each room has an airy and light design with bright white walls. Colour consultant, Jean Pfaff, designed the building with varying colours and tones to create separate spaces like atmospheric zones. You will notice that every room in this design hotel has its own character and ambience as they were designed according to feng shui concepts to create a harmonious living space, which encourages rejuvenation and compliments human movements.
