Palacio Guendulain is an elegant former royal residence in Pamplona. Situated in the city's picturesque Old Town, it is a great choice for both leisure and business travellers (the latter due to close proximity to the Baluarte Conference Centre). It has been tastefully furnished with antiques and oil paintings and has a number of curios on display, from an 18th-century horse carriage and porter's chair to the vintage car collection on the lawns.

The facilities

The restaurant is the star attraction here, a refined eatery for the best of Basque and Navarra regional cuisine. There's also a cosy bar area that's perfect for evening cocktails. Several events spaces are available for weddings or conferences, and there's a lovely courtyard (with a fountain designed by the painter Luis Paret to mark the introduction of running water in Pamplona).

The rooms

Each of Palacio Guendulain's 25 guestrooms share the same traditional style as the rest of the hotel. All come with complimentary wifi, Molton Brown toiletries, flat screen televisions and a well-stocked minibar. The higher classes of rooms boast balconies and spacious living areas.
