Over 700 years ago Castell d'Empordà belonged to Pere Margarit, a captain who served under Columbus. Today, its new owner, Albert Diks, has transformed this magnificent castle into a luxury hotel. The castle has a very personal style in the interiors due to the creativity and international experience of the owner.

The facilities

At the heart of the Castell d'Empordà lies the Napoleon Hall, where a reconstruction of the Battle of Waterloo has been put together. It took over 20 years to complete, and includes drawings, paintings, maps, and an 18 square metre scale model representation of the battle, the "Belle Alliance".

The ambiance of Castell d'Empordà's restaurant is something to be admired. The views here are amazing and guests should try and visit during sunset. Spend some time outside on the terraces for a truly Mediterranean feeling.

The rooms

If Castell d'Empordà is on the small side with 38 rooms, all rooms are individually decorated making guests feel even more unique and special. Silks from India are the linens of choice here, while all rooms come equipped with the basic amenities of air conditioning, flat screen TV, telephone, mini bar, safe and 24 hour room service.
