The Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao, facing the Guggenheim Museum, is the Silken Hotels' first five-star and the chain's pride. The design hotel expresses a contemporary concept that avoids ostentation and promotes fun. The project is infected by its neighbour, the Guggenheim's, activity and offers a space that contains a selection of furniture that represents the most emblematic design from the 20th-century. Its singularity consists in the application of a concept of integral design, of great, formal coherence, carried out by Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas with their respective teams. GHBD isn't only the design hotel to stay at, but a colourist microcosm that opens its door to whomever wishes to get close to it and have a coffee, a drink or eat in its restaurant.

The facilities

The design hotel has a unique red and white decorated cocktail lounge. Visit here for a laid back atmosphere and good late night music. The cafeteria is the place to catch a casual breakfast and lunch in the design hotel. For a more upscale experience, guests have the luxury of an onsite gastronomic restaurant. The lounges make a perfect meeting location as they can accommodate anywhere from 20 to 500 people. Perhaps the best place to relax within the design hotel is the reading corner. Here a chimney is lit up in the winter providing a more cosy atmosphere.

The rooms

The GHDB includes 131 rooms and 14 suites spread out on five floors. Six of the suites at the design hotel present guests with a view of the Guggenheim Museum. Modern equipment is used in every room and the unique decor provides a personalized touch.
