Quirky, funky rooms and friendly staff make for a young-at-heart hotel in a fine old building.

Casa Camper Barcelona is a boutique hotel in Barcelona with an elegant 19th-century facade and a sleek, contemporary heart. It lies in the heart of the El Ravel district, and is within walking distance to Las Ramblas and the Boqueira market.  The area is hip and bohemian, and the site of the SONAR electronic festival each summer.

The facilities

Facilities are minimal, as with many boutique hotels. There's an emphasis on healthy living here, so the hotel is completely non-smoking. A buffet breakfast is provided each morning, and there's a 'Ten-Ten Pie' (basically a light snack) included in the room rate too. A huge array of restaurants are scattered in the surrounding streets.

The rooms

Each of the 25 rooms are clean-lined and modern, with all expected mod cons. There's a pillow menu available, plus plasma screen televisions and king-size beds. Try to go for a Camper Suite, which boast a mini-lounge on private balconies, with hammocks and work stations.
