The Claris lies in the heart of Barcelona is a central luxury hotel with the added bonus of having a mini-museum attached (now that's a selling point that we rarely hear at this end of the market). The musuem itself specialises in Ancient Egypt, and although the Claris is not themed, a certain 'Pharaoh-chic' can be felt in the rich woods and ancient sculptures dotted throughout.

The facilities

Probebly the biggest draw here is the rooftop pool and terrace, which enjoys views over the whole city. There's also a smart restaurant, East 47. which serves delicious tapas underneath original Warhol prints.Business travellers are well-serviced with a fully equipped work centre, plus a choice of 7 meeting rooms.

The rooms

Each of the 124 bedrooms at the Claris is smartly kitted out, in a contemporary style. Original artworks from ancient Rome and Egypt adorn the walls, but there's also plenty of mod cons, from flatscreen televisions, to wifi access.
