The facilities

The 19th-century main house is all restored original fireplaces, colonial-style polished wood and deep armchairs. Watch animals come to drink at the porch-side waterhole, or plunge into the natural swimming pool for a bit of refreshment yourself. Meals are served on the veranda or in the elegant dining room. Romantic outdoor suppers can also be arranged.

The rooms

Sleep under a thatched canopy in one of Gorah's 11 super-luxurious tented suites - all have ensuite bathrooms and their own private outdoor decks. Decor is simple and refined, with smart whites played off against dark wood furniture. Romantic four poster beds are a centrepiece.
