Hotel Overview
Furnas Lake Villas is a collection of 10 apartments, close to the lakeside in Furnas. With verdant gardens, a beautiful pool area and a design that's been implemented with sensitivity to the natural environment, it makes for a sumptuous and peaceful retreat in the Azores. Do be aware that the hotel is not situated right on the waterside, and that to explore the island, car hire is strongly recommended (staff is more than happy to help with this).
The facilities
There's no restaurant, but a beautiful breakfast spread is provided each morning, and a picnic basket can be arranged, for an extra charge (well worth treating yourself to, it's packed full of local specialities, from wine and cheeses to bolo levedo cake). There's also a wide range of activities on offer, from watersports to trekking in the surrounding mountains.
The rooms
Each of the 10 apartments in Furnas Lake Villas is light and airy, with a contemporary finish. All have separate living areas, cosy fireplaces, all mod cons and private porches to make the most of those sweeping views.
